Email Routing is a feature in Surfside Web's cPanel that determines how email is treated when it is sent to a particular domain. It allows you to control whether email is delivered to your local server or forwarded to another server. This is particularly useful if you're using a third-party email service or if you want to direct certain emails to a specific server or location.

Here's how to use the "Email Routing" feature in cPanel's latest version:

  1. Log in to cPanel: Use your username and password to log in to your cPanel account.

  2. Navigate to Email Routing: From the main cPanel interface, click on the "Email" section, then click "Email Routing".

  3. Choose the Domain: If you're managing multiple domains, select the domain you want to adjust email routing for from the dropdown list.

  4. Set the Email Routing Options: You'll be presented with four options:

    • Automatically Detect Configuration: This is the default setting. It automatically detects and applies the best route for your emails based on your MX records.
    • Local Mail Exchanger: This option routes all emails to the mail server on your cPanel account. Use this if your cPanel server is your primary email server.
    • Backup Mail Exchanger: Select this if your cPanel server is a backup mail server, or if another server is your primary mail server.
    • Remote Mail Exchanger: Choose this if your emails are handled by a remote server, such as a third-party email service. Your cPanel server will not handle emails for your domain.

  5. Apply the Setting: Click "Change" to apply the selected setting.

Remember, setting incorrect mail routing options could lead to email delivery issues. If you're unsure, please contact our support team.

Using the Email Routing feature effectively allows you to manage where your emails end up, giving you full control over your email communication. It's a powerful tool, particularly for those with multiple domains or third-party email services. Enjoy taking control of your email with cPanel!
